Joining Waimakariri Pottery Group gives you access to a supportive, well-equipped pottery studio where you can work independently, connect with fellow makers, and continue to develop your skills in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Whether you're a beginner fresh out of a class or a seasoned potter looking for studio time, we’d love to have you as a member!
Once you're a paid member, you can request the studio door code for flexible access during non-class hours.
Club Member Access Times:
Tuesdays: 9am – 3pm (including a shared lunch at 12ish)
Thursdays: 6pm – 9pm
Other times available on request (subject to availability and orientation)
Access to electric wheels, slab roller, extruders, pottery tools, moulds
Use of our electric kilns, and participation in raku, pit and salt firings
Optional firing support from experienced members
Opportunities to join workshops, exhibitions, sales and club events
Supportive environment to grow your pottery practice
Waimakariri Pottery Group is a charitable trust, proudly run by volunteers. Your membership supports not just your creative journey, but also helps us maintain and improve our shared space for all.
Thanks to a recently completed extension, our studio now features:
A new accessible toilet and modern kitchen
A dedicated glazing room and kiln room, separated for safety and workflow
Improved accessibility for members with mobility needs
We’re proud to be creating a space that’s more functional, inclusive, and inspiring for everyone.
